What is the AXP Filament LED™ Light Bulb?
The AXP 7W Filament LED™ light bulb creates an amount of light that is equivalent to that of a 65 watt incandescent bulb. It consumes less than 7 watts of electricity using linear COB (chip-on-board) LEDs to mimic a thin “Filament” wire. The resulting appearance is astonishing. These bulbs are available in warm white (2700K), and cool white (6500K) color temperatures, while radiating light in all directions.
Why did AXP bring the Filament LED™ bulb to the North American market?
AXP Technology is proud to raise the bar, and elevate the level of performance that can be achieved in Solid State Lighting through the use of Filament LED™ lighting.
What makes the Filament LED™ Technology a breakthrough?
AXP Filament LED™ technology combines the classic look of incandescent with the thermal efficiency of vertically oriented COB LEDs. These Filament LED™ light bulbs are the first UL and Energy Star approved LED filament light bulbs in North America that do not require a heat sink. The result is a milestone in the evolution of Solid State Lighting.
What is the lifetime of an AXP Filament LED™ Light Bulb?
The typical lifetime of an AXP Filament LED™ light bulb is 25,000 to 30,000 hours based on normal operating conditions such as -4F ~ +104F.
How do Filament LED™ lamps compare with other forms of LED lamps?
According to a recent independent scientific study (Click here to see article), 17 different models of LED filament lamps compared favorably with traditional LED lamps as follows:
- Lower Cost + Higher Efficacy. Due to rapid product innovation, Filament LED bulbs are trending 11% lower in price, and 29% higher in efficacy compared with recent industry forecasts.
- Filament LED bulbs provide the highest quality of light based on three universally recognized parameters (warm white, high CRI, and no flicker).
- Filament LED lamps are compatible with either leading-edge, or trailing-edge dimmers, and in some cases a few lamps are compatible with both types of dimmers.
- Filament LED lamps meet or exceed existing industry quality, safety, and energy efficiency standards as defined by Energy Star, CE, UL, TUV, RoHS, and REACH. CRI, and Color Accuracy also meet or exceed existing standards.
- Filament LED lamps are reliable. With typical life expectancies ranging from 25,000 ~30,000 hours, and designs that run so cool and efficiently that a heat sink is no longer needed, Filament LED lamps are poised to become the new benchmark in LED lamp design.
Is the AXP Filament LED™ Light Bulb Energy Star rated?
AXP Filament LED™ Light Bulbs have completed LM79 testing. Energy Star certification has been issued to our all AXP brand products since February 2015.
Why does CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) matter?
The correlated color temperature (CCT) is a specification of the color appearance of the light emitted by a lamp, relating its color to the color of light from a reference source when heated to a particular temperature, measured in degrees Kelvin (K). This measurement will give you a very good idea of the shade of white light that is being emitted. Warmer colors are in the 2600K~3000K range, while cooler colors are in the 6000K~7000K range.
What is CRI?
Color Rendering Index (CRI) is the ability of a light source to accurately render all frequencies of its color spectrum when compared to a perfect reference light of a similar type (color temperature). It is rated on a scale from 1-100. The higher the CRI, the higher it’s color rendering accuracy.
What dimmers are compatible with AXP Technology bulbs?
AXP Filament LED™ bulbs are designed to be dimmed with standard incandescent type dimmers. They are also compatible with most Magnetic Low Voltage (MLV) and Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) dimmers. Our list of compatible dimmers was generated from lab testing of samples and your results could vary.
What is the warranty for AXP Technology Products?
AXP Technology, Inc. warrants our AXP brand Filament LED products to be free of defects in materials and workmanship. For TLED, panel light, and shoebox light certified through DLC, the product lifetime is 50,000 hours or 5-year from the date of purchase under normal usage. For Energy Star certified Filament LED bulbs, and PAR light, the product lifetime is 25,000 hours or 3-year from the date of purchase under normal usage. If for any reason, an AXP Technology product fails to perform according to AXP product specifications, and the product does not exhibit signs of abuse or neglect (i.e. broken glass, or improper electrical supply), then the product may be returned for a replacement of an equivalent product at no charge.
Private label and sub-brand are not included in this master warranty policy. PB label lighting product warranty is structured case by case between AXP and it’s customer’s.
What is the return policy?
No merchandise may be returned without prior written permission. A Return Material Authorization (RMA) number must be issued from AXP Technology. Requests must be made within 30 days from date of shipment. Returned goods are subject to a 25% restocking fee based upon the amount of the original invoice. Merchandise must be in original packaging and be in resale, unused condition. Custom orders are non-cancelable and non-returnable.
